Hello,
This is Kamiya from ITSP.
We are pleased to share the Representative Director Matsushima’s speech from our recent entrance ceremony, with his permission.

“Don’t avoid things because you’ve never done them—do them because you’ve never done them before.”
Good morning, and thank you very much for joining ITSP.
Today, I would like to share a way of thinking that I value deeply, and I hope you will put it into practice.
I want you to live by the mindset:
“Don’t avoid things because you’ve never done them—do them because you’ve never done them before.”
Now that you have entered working life, have you started to lose curiosity about things you’ve never experienced—things you’ve never seen, heard, eaten, or places you’ve never been?
As we receive and filter vast amounts of information, this is somewhat natural. However, I believe this loss of curiosity is something of a negative tendency.
When we are children, we are curious about everything. But as we grow older, that curiosity tends to fade.
I believe this is a serious issue, because it leads people to become satisfied with the present situation and stop challenging themselves.
Being satisfied with the present means avoiding change. It is said that “the species that survive are not the strongest, but those that adapt to change.” Change is directly connected to the survival of ourselves and our families.
I have lived for 34 years, and Japan is often referred to as having experienced “the lost 30 years,” during which the country did not grow economically.
In 1989, the year I was born, many Japanese companies were ranked among the world’s top market capitalizations—32 companies in total.
How about today?
Now, only Toyota remains in the global top 50. In 2023, there were even no Japanese companies in that ranking.
It is unlikely that the world will return to the same conditions as 1989.
In today’s Japan, it should be obvious that living the same way as 30 years ago is not sustainable. Without change, we cannot protect our families or loved ones.
But many people do not know how to change.
The specific methods are not the most important part. What I want to share today is simply a way of thinking.
There are two types of people:
* “I won’t do it because I’ve never done it before”
* “I want to try it because I’ve never done it before”
I hope you will become someone who says,
“I’ll try it at least once.”
If you want to protect your family, I hope you pass this mindset on to your children as well.
I have lived this way since I was 25, and it has shaped who I am today.
Results do not come immediately. Things that bring instant results do not last.
But just as my life changed over five years, I believe your life can also change in five years.
ITSP is a company that is constantly evolving—supporting employees’ ambitions, actively introducing useful internal tools, and promoting side work and remote work.
While our main business currently focuses on work from Tokyo and Osaka handled in Shimane, we are also exploring opportunities to take on overseas projects from Shimane.
New employees will undergo a three-month training program. The opportunity to learn while being paid is extremely rare in a lifetime.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions—whether to instructors, colleagues, or seniors—and deepen your understanding. Study diligently at home as well, and make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
We are excited to see what kind of work we can accomplish together.
We look forward to your future success.
Thank you very much.
